For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

In one of my favorite exile lines of scripture, we find Jeremiah reassuring the Babylonian exiles that this present darkness will be met with light. He declares a promise from God that these demoralized people will have a future and hope because God has a plan. Before the 6th century B.C. would close, these people were back in Jerusalem rebuilding the temple and its walls.

But their real future will come five centuries later when God’s plan is revealed, and it is HIM in the flesh!
