Calibration Dates

A long time ago, in a land far away, what seems like a lifetime ago, I was a supervisor of lab technicians who tested medical devices that were in development. Any measurement device we used had a calibration sticker listing the date it was last calibrated and the date it needed recalibration. This little detail may only seem unimportant, but once you remember that measuring equipment out of calibration can produce false results when testing the safety and effectiveness of a medical device that will someday be used on a human being.

Our spiritual journey with 42 is the same way. You must pay attention to it to avoid putting forth an ineffective and unsafe product: Love-Mischief. Choosing not to worship weekly (in person and within a community, I might add), routinely having two-sided conversations with 42 (at least daily), and dwelling in The Book (at least a couple times a week), your being will incrementally and slowly creep out of calibration. Refrain from paying attention to these details for too long, and you might find that your safety and effectiveness may compromise another (and you).

“…you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30
