For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

I love the words “living and active” as they are used here. It’s not saying the words on the page are alive; they are inanimate. But it is the ONE that dwells within and amongst these words that, like a surgeon, slices into the emotions and thoughts of the “patient.”*

One of the reasons I take the time to write a Biblical reflection for each Friday is because I want you to be comfortable with allowing the “Master Surgeon” to operate on you like he does on me everyday at O’Dark-thirty. One of these procedures is what you just read!
