Reflections from Gloucester – Part IV

Sitting Fireside with 42

On our final evening, after the last retreat reflection, I came across a fellow traveler sitting in front of the fireplace with a newly crackling fire. I sat beside him silently, and we both stared into the flames. It was mesmerizing.

Soon, my gaze moved upward. Above the hearth was a print of The Holy Trinity by Andrei Rublev. Then I realized we were sitting fireside with the Author of Life, the Universe, and Everything; 42!

Over the next hour, my companion and I were joined by a dozen or more silent travelers, all sitting fireside in community, basking in the glow of 42!

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 28:20
