

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.” Matthew 18:15
I find hope for the church (ecclesia) in this teaching from our Lord. The Prince of Peace wants us to have boundaries in Christian community, but also wants us to seek reconciliation with another if we have been harmed, or if we have wronged another. This is His first choice.
If that doesn’t work, you bring one or two witnesses/mediators to discuss the matter further. If ultimately the offender does not acknowledge fault in their actions, then it’s time to part ways.
But remember, the Lord prefers step one!
