Better Bring Body Bags!
Once capital of ancient Lydia (several centuries before Jesus), it was crushed by Cyrus the Great in 547 BC, rebuilt, and destroyed again in 499 BC. In 344 BC, Sardis conquered by Alexander the Great, and eventually fell into hands of Rome in 129 BC. It would be destroyed again by an earthquake a few years before Jesus was born, and rebuilt with Roman money. This city just can’t catch a break!
And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: “The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. ‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

Godzilla say, “Ouch!!” This only church of seven not receive any positive feedback.
Instead, Jesus say they are dead and don’t know it. They have reputation of being great at rejecting false doctrines, but…. reputation one of appearances and not doing will of 42. They get high on own supply instead of giving glory to God for he is good. They dead and don’t even know it. Gonna be need for “spiritual” body bags.
But always hope, because a few people remain who get it. But if church don’t change, the Holy Coroner will be notified.
Big Lizard remind you that church die if only a few left who are still faithful; faith’s a team sport. Nothing more sad then to watching church die, except those churches that are already dead and still think they alive.
