For the YHWH takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation. Psalm 149:4
The Hebrew word translated as “takes pleasure” is רוֹצֶ֣ה (ro-w-seh), which means “accepts favorably.”
Do you think the YHWH is taking pleasure in his people of today? Do you believe the YHWH accepts favorably today’s church?
The church militant, both right and left, seem more preoccupied with winning and losing for their respective causes and have forgotten that the Lord takes pleasure in our humbleness.
The consumerist church seems more preoccupied with what they get out of or take away from the church rather than being productive citizens of the Kingdom of God on earth. They seem to have forgotten that God accepts favorably our selfless sacrificial love toward others and him.
Then there is the idolatrous church. They seem to be more married to their politicians, worldviews, traditions, money, power, etc… They seem to have forgotten what it means to be the humble and adoring Bride of Christ.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Some are not militant, consumerist, or idolatrous. But we all must remind ourselves what the Apostle Paul plainly says.
For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus… Romans 3:22b-24
