Babel Fish
“The Babel fish is small, yellow, leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier, but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centres of the brain which has supplied them. Not to be confused with an earworm (songs like “Baby Shark” that get in you head and torture you all day), a Babel fish would be amazingly useful in translating what comes out of other people’s mouths these days, especially those political types!
But alas, we have no such excreting communication helper to stop us from the self-harm of our idolatrous factions who are building “towers” in order to be like God! These behaviors serve only to seperate us from “42” and one another . (See Genesis 11:1-9)
Paul reminds us to stay focused on the teaching of the Master:
…walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3
