…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints… Ephesians 1:16-18

In these verses, Paul states that “hope” comes from God’s Spirit providing wisdom and revelation. In turn, this illumination from within provides the key for sending people into the world, thus the inheritance of the saints (saint = sent by God).

We often speak of “hope,” but do we truly understand it?

The Greek word for hope is ἐλπίς (pronounced elpis), which means an expectation of what is sure (certain). This is not just a human desire, but a divine necessity provided by God. It’s what allows the one being sent to walk with the Spirit with confidence and assurance. In other words, hope is not just a concept, it’s a reality!

I pray you carry this “hope” in your daily walk as saints of the Light!
