“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
I love the way this verse opens. It is not just about an act of trusting in the Lord but about allowing God to be your hope. When one can tap into this, even in difficult times, one can thrive!
Lord, I know many who have drifted away from you, especially in this cultural and spiritual drought. They may say (or have said) that they trust in you, but they seem to be withering as it appears they have not tapped into the wellspring of hope that is you! I pray that they return to you in faith and hope, and may we, the church, be ready to welcome them back with open arms. I pray this in my Hope and Trust, Amen.
