For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

2 Timothy 2:5-6

In seminary back in the day, they taught us to call this “substitutionary atonement” as Jesus gave himself as a ransom for our selfishness, pride, and bad behavior. Now that I am old and gray (actually old and bald), I simply call this PROFOUND LOVE.

And who better to be our spokesperson, mediator, defense attorney and friend before the Author of Life, the Universe, and Everything? Thank you LORD!
