The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

It strikes me how many people see God as a construct of the human condition, or a deliverer of hateful judgement. Yet, God is more often spoken of as one of mercy and love.

In this passage, we see a loving God who is not only present in our lives, but gladly rejoices over us, loves and nurtures us, and exults over us. That sounds like a personal God to me.

Never forget that you are loved!
