TOYIN’

Part 6

Just before Thanksgiving, I completed a course on Transitional Ministry. The final assignment was to create a Personal Ministry Declaration, a credo of sorts. We were given autonomy to use whatever methods to speak about the values we hold dear in our own walk in ministry. It should come as no surprise to you that I used TANKA. I wrote seven TANKAs, each supported by scripture. I give you a sixth piece of me!

Such a profound word

SHALOM encompasses much

May Peace embrace you

Welfare, Long Life, and Safety

May you Live Long and Prosper!

LLAP! – An original HitchHiker TANKA inspired by the depth and breadth and height of the word “SHALOM.”

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
