Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! Psalm 139:23-24

Are you willing to ask God to perform an faith audit on your heart? Would you dare to invite the Lord in to check your “balance” sheet? Do you think you have more assets or liabilities? Are you ready to work on this?

The Psalmist is excitedly willing and inviting towards God. He wants God to check his books, because he trusts him implicitly to be merciful and loving. He seems to welcome the intervention.

What an appropriate scripture for the opening days of the Lenten Season.
