“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14, 16
I have a confession; I sleep with a nightlight. Well, sort of. I guess it’s not really a nightlight, but it is the bathroom light. Whether I am at home or in a hotel, I leave a light on in the bathroom. It helps me to know where I am going if I have to get up in the middle of the night. (Nerves, not age!) It also keeps me from stubbing my toes, stepping on or tripping over “The Monster Behind the Door,” or walking into a piece of furniture.
Light is necessary to truly see where you are going, and keeps you from hurting yourself or others. And Jesus tells us to let our light shine so people can see and find their way toward “42.”
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Genesis 1:3-4
Shine Away!
