For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:20
Humans at BibleGateway.com provide single “Verse of the Day” this morning. In it, Paul tell Romans he not understand how people not see fingerprints of Creator all over creation, and they have no excuse for not knowing God. Paul then go on in subsequent verses to point out that the created choose to come up with own interpretations, and worship selves and Swiss cheese theories instead of love and honor Creator.
But God not rain down fire and lightning bolts to punish arrogant and selfish humanity. (This where you thank “42” for not putting Godzilla in charge!) Instead Lord of Life, Universe, and Everything do something worse; turn humanity over to own desires and schemes. They dig own grave!
So God then take direct and compassionate approach allowing opportunity for humanity to move away from pride and selfishness. God choose to become human himself and offer salvation to broken anthropoids. Some turn to Jesus and live life of loving “42” and fellow anthropoids. Others choose keep focus on selves.
Scripture tell us eventually Jesus return with one final question for self-centered self-absorbed humanity:
“How that work out for you?”
But Paul still hold out hope in God’s grace near end of letter when he quote Prophet Isaiah!
“Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
Isaiah 52:15/Romans 15:21
