Good Morning Moon!

Lake Mohawk 2022.04.17

On Easter morning, 6 AM, I stepped out of the car and onto the boardwalk. The Easter sunrise service would begin in an hour. My only greeter that morning was the Moon. Good morning Moon!

Main Street, Sparta – 2022.04.22

Five days later, I was out walking the Monster Behind the Door when I spotted the Moon in the sky once again. This time, a beautifully bright half-Moon. Good morning Moon!

As I pondered my two recent Moon encounters, I admired this celestial body’s consistency. You witness the Moon’s face always pointing toward the Sun, not the earth, whenever you see it. I acknowledge a dark side, but its front always faces the Sun and glows.

As those saved by the grace, we must always endeavor to face the Son, not the world. Our job is to always look to him because then those in the world will see the One who loves us enough to die for us. And for this, you should glow!

Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Raise a song; sound the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp. Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day. Psalm 81:1-3
