Talk about your follow-up bLOGs! I just wrote about asking Jesus to weed sin out of our lives on Tuesday continuously, and here I am reading a similar theme handed down from our Lord’s brother almost 2000 years ago!
Over the past few years, there has been a lot of individual and corporate bad behavior in our society. We see rampant filthiness and rampant wickedness around every corner. We see them thinking about their rights instead of the rights of others, often defending the indefensible. We see people treating those with different worldviews as enemies, slandering and defaming them. We are all dragged into the manure pit.
It’s time to rise out of the muck and the mire and hose off. We need to humble ourselves and practice gentleness toward others. The Greek word for “gentleness” is πραΰτητι (prow-teh-ti), which brings with it a gentle strength of divine origin. Thus it is an “implanted” word within us that has the fingerprints of a Savior all over it!
Lord Jesus,
Sprout the word implanted within us; in all of us. Let us blossom with divine gentleness toward our neighbors and see them as important to us as we are to ourselves. Let us be the change you expect us to be.
We pray in the name of the Lamb that was slain. Amen!
