But he was pierced for our transgressions,
Isaiah 53:5-6
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
Just take a few minutes to sit an ponder words penned nearly eight centuries prior to Jesus’ death upon a cross on a hill outside the walls of Jerusalem.
His punishment brought us Peace!
His wounds brought us Healing!
