And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
Sometimes we beat ourselves up for failing in some way, especially during our faith walk. Maybe we have not loved our neighbor (or enemy) the way Jesus calls us to love. Maybe we are a little uninspired or lazy, and this affects how we live or speak about our faith in the Triune God of Grace. Maybe we have a conflict with another member of the church family rather than loving them as Jesus has loved us. I could go on and on and on.
What Paul is telling the Philippian church (and us) is that the Author of Life, the Universe, and Everything began a good work in each and every one of us, and the mistake or failure is just a blip in the beautiful completed work that is you! So have courage and faith to keep going until you meet the Master, and you will see what he has been up to!
