Shhhh!!! It’s a Secret.
That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him. Mark 1:32-33
The prior healings happened on the Sabbath. Notice that now, after the sun went down on the Sabbath, scads of people came with their sick and demon-oppressed. Why? Because if they had come out expecting a healing on the Sabbath, they would likely have been confronted by the judgmental authority of the religious leaders.
I would like to interject that the tensions begin “immediately.”
Once again, you see Jesus preventing the demons from speaking because they would out him too soon. This is often referred to as the “Messianic Secret.” It creates tension somewhat like a cliffhanger. You will have to see what is going to happen next!
Lord,
Even now, we can’t wait to see what will happen next. Our controlling nature wants the answers now, but you are a continuing revelation until all things are made new. Help us to enjoy the story as it unfolds before us.
I pray this in the name of the Alpha and Omega. Amen!
SEARCHING FOR 42 
Thanks Pat, I needed that prayer right now. I confessed to my love how anxious I have become lately. Actually confessing that it was about the need to be in control. I will try harder to appreciate the story no matter much of a cliff hanger it is. Haha.
